Open PEIA Positions

Managing a neighborhood isn't easy.  We have many contributors, but we need a few special people to raise their hand and share their special talents with us.  We have a few roles that need filling.  If any of these roles interest you, please reach out to us at PEIAOakland@gmail.com.  We are excited for your contributions.  

Block Party Coordinator

  • Organize and lead the block party committee.

  • Determine and delegate responsibilities. 

  • Keep track of completion of tasks using digital tools.

  • Direct volunteers on the day of the event.

  • Commitment Needed – 5hrs in July, 8hrs in August, 12hrs in September



 

Intervention Group Coordinator

  • Be in regular contact with Nate Cook, GM of IG

  • Coordinate and finalize monthly crime bulletins

  • Work with PEIA President, VP, and other PEIA volunteers to implement security programs

  • Implement programs to increase IG subscriptions

  • Encourage subscribers to be current on their invoices.

  • (These responsibilities may be split among 2 coordinators)

  • Commitment Needed – 2hrs per month, plus 4-8hrs per project, depending on project scope and size.



 

Emergency Preparedness Coordinator

  •  Work with marketing coordinator to put together announcements

  • Decide on topics

  • Coordinate with speakers (Chris Brown, Nick Luby, etc.)

  • 3 workshops per year

  • Commitment Needed – 3hrs per month



 

Fundraising Coordinator

  • Design fundraising strategies to increase PEIA monetary contributions

  • Work with PEIA Treasurer to keep track of monetary contributions 

  • Commitment Needed – 2hrs per month



 

Marketing Coordinator

  • Work with other coordinators to design flyers, bulletins, and other marketing materials.

  • Work with digital marketing tools like Canva and Google Workspace

  • Delegate distribution of marketing

  • Have a creative and design touch

  • Commitment Needed – 3hrs per month



 

Neighborhood Watch Representative

  • Represent PEIA at Neighborhood Watch meetings

  • Work with Intervention Group Coordinator and PEIA Board to implement neighborhood security measures.

  • Commitment Needed – 2hrs per month



 

Block Captain

  • Represent PEIA and its mission on a grassroots level.  Have conversations and share what PEIA is doing to encourage participation.

  • Get to know the neighbors in your “region”.

  • Distribute flyers.

  • Commitment Needed – 1hr per month
